October 13, 2023 changed our world forever and turned life as we knew it upside down. Evan was an active, happy teenage boy who loved math, marching band, and languages. Then, in a flash, he was unable to walk, stand, or move his left side. He fought with every fiber in his body to regain his physical capabilities to live life his way. Through a combination of a brain biopsy, 30 sessions of radiation and a regimen of oral chemo, he took back the joys in life that cancer tried to rob him of. He regained all of his functions that even allowed him to participate in a full season of marching band, which culminated in a performance at the Pro Football Hall of Fame where he watched his high school win the state championship in 2024. Sadly, we lost him on May 3, 2025. Even toward the end, he lived out his days on his own terms, avoiding hospitals and leaving to meet God in his own home surrounded by his family.

Evan was adamant that he wanted his journey to positively impact other kids who might be put into the same position as him, so with that wish in mind, our family has decided to honor his life and legacy by funding research that will, one day, lead to a cure.
