Bowie is a little boy with an inoperable optic pathway pilocytic astrocytoma. He was diagnosed with nystagmus at his 4 month old checkup, and the tumor was found a month later. He has been on chemotherapy since August 2023 at age 7 months. He loves music, especially Stevie Wonder, loves to swing and to charm everyone as he rides around the clinic. Though he has a port access every week for chemo he is a true warrior in spirit, very stoic, rarely crying for all the pokes and meds that make him feel so bad. He also has to wear an eye patch every day, and is on medication to keep him from losing too much weight as the chemo makes him sick. But every day he wakes with a smile and we could not feel more lucky to be his family.
