May I introduce you to ‘The Most Wonderful, Marvellous, Magnificent Miss Cassiopeia Eloise Edwards’! Our beautiful 13yo daughter who turns 14 on May 17th, which coincidentally is DIPG Awareness Day. Cassie has one older sister, and two rescue pups, Sidney & Shelby who she loves dearly. Cassie loves to sing, dance, draw AND watch Zootopia on repeat.
Cassie was diagnosed with DIPG on November 5th, 2025 and recently finished her 2nd round of radiation treatment. Unfortunately, Cassie’s health took a turn around 4 weeks ago which resulted in a week long stay at Phoenix Children’s Hospital to help provide treatment to some side effects of DIPG (balance issues and limb weakness) and also to monitor her and get her back to the radiology folks at the Mayo Center.
Since radiation ended Cassie has had an NG Line fitted to help her get some food and medicine into her system without too much disturbance. Her speech is impacted, but she still knows how to ask for snacks, tell us about the dreams she’s had, ask to watch animated films on tv, and to have her favorite pups lifted up onto her bed.
We love Cassie with all our hearts and are just praying she’s able to gain some movement and speech improvements after her latest round of radiation. She has the most amazing singing voice you ever did hear. ❤️🙏🏻😀
