Aaliyah Kathryn Jensen was a true hero and warrior. She fought DIPG fiercely and bravely for 13 months, giving her medical team a run for their money with her spunky attitude and determination. Aaliyah was the sweetest girl you’d meet, with a huge personality, hilarious jokes and the very best giggles. She loved with her “whole heart!” She never let DIPG define her. She was our pride and joy for the 2,170 days that God let her be ours. The name Aaliyah means “rising up or ascending to the heavens, highborn, or sublime..” all perfect name meanings for the little girl that we had the pleasure of calling ours. She lived up to her name, and was more amazing than we could have ever dreamed she’d be. Aaliyah knew she was a gift from God, and we have no doubt that she was too perfect to stay on this earth. She is now running the streets of heaven and painting rainbows in the sky. Until we meet again, sister. I love you with my whole heart!
Being a part of The Cure Starts Now is so important to our little family. Minutes before Aaliyah passed away, we promised her we would fight for a cure for this devastating cancer. The Cure Starts Now allows us that opportunity. Please consider donating, so that one day, when we are reunited with our girl, we can let her know that she was able to help save kids just like her! Help us find the cure for DIPG. - Jarret, Destiny, Aaliyah and Aalayna Jensen
