On May 1, 2025, we discovered that Cora had a brain tumor. We later learned that it was DMG, a truly tough pill to swallow. Surgeries, MRIs, drug trials, and blood draws have all been really challenging. But, that is the bad, and Cora, like all kids with cancer, is more than her diagnosis.
Cora loves art, especially drawing. If you ask her what she wants to be when she grows up, she will say "an author/illustrator." She has tons of comic book ideas and drawings all over her room.
She has also been a Girl Scout since she was in first grade, and likes learning new things, making art, going to camp, and being silly with her friends. She also likes doing projects that help her community.
One of Cora's favorite things is telling jokes. She tells jokes to anyone who will listen, and makes up new ones all the time. Her first day of radiation, she told everyone this joke: "Why do you never hear a pterodactyl go to the bathroom? ... Because the P is silent!" Laughter and silliness make the tough stuff easier to handle.
