I was diagnosed on September 16, 2025. It all started on a Sunday watching the Chiefs game. At halftime I got up to go do something and all of a sudden it felt like I was getting hit in the head with a hammer and shortly after the whole right side of my body went numb and tingly. The next morning it was still going on so my mom said we better go to the doctor. She called the doctor and they advised her to take me to the ER so I drove myself to the hospital cause my mom was already at work. She joined me at the ER and the doctor said we need to do a MRI and as soon as the results were back the doctor came in and told us they found a mass in my brain and they were referring me to Children’s Mercy. My mom was going to take me but Children’s Mercy said, no he needs to be in a ambulance transport, so that is what happened and once I got there they admitted me and did another MRI and the neurologist did a biopsy of the tumor and the results came back within a week and we were told that I had a diffuse midline glioma and there wasn’t anything they could do but radiation treatments. But my mom had been very busy reaching out to several different places about getting another opinion. In the meantime, a friend reached out to my mom and got her in touch with a surgeon in Memphis, TN and they talked and she gave my reports and MRI’s to him and he looked them over and he said he could do the surgery and we went to Memphis on September 28, 2025 and St. Jude excepted me and I had my surgery on October 2, 2025 and the surgeon feels he got all the tumor and I started radiation treatments shortly afterwards. I am having treatments now and then I will get to go home and come back January 26 for my first scan.
