Isla was the happiest girl from the moment she entered this world. She had a sparkle about her that radiated love, kindness, and a heart like Jesus.
Isla loved community. She never met a stranger and had a way of making you feel like you were the most important person in the room. She was intentional with the love she gave. Celebrating people brought her joy beyond measure, making sure they felt extremely special.
Isla made the shy kids comfortable and the sad kids happy. No one was ever excluded by her. She spoke boldly to bullies against their harsh words or actions, but then prayed for them by night.
Isla was a giver, a helper, the best daughter, the best little sister, and a best friend to many.
Even through her fight against DMG, she stayed hopeful, faithful, brave, and worried about everyone worrying about her.
She had the best laugh and goofy personality. Gave the best hugs and kisses. She loved organizing her vanity, and made "spa bags" for last minute gifts.....just because. She loved the color teal. Swimming in pools, lakes, rivers, enjoying backyard sunshine with her friends were always a big part of her Summer days. Everyday was an adventure for her.
God gave her wisdom way beyond her years.
Isla is well known by our small community of Gig Harbor. She attended Little Lambs preschool from 2015-2019, Kindergarten at Minter Creek Elementary 2019-2020, and Pioneer Elementary 1st-5th grade- 2020-2025. For 6th grade she was enrolled at Key Pennsula Middle School, but her disease progressed. She ran into the arms of Jesus on November 11, 2025.
If you are unable to donate, we do have a special request:
Please take 5 mins to educate yourselves on DMG/DIPG. This type of brain cancer is terminal with a 0% survival rate. We had never heard of this type of Pediatric Cancer until it found Isla. It was never mentioned as a possibility when her symptoms started. And even led to a 6 month misdiagnosis.
Awareness is key to finding a cure, In honor of Isla.
