Sofia is our precious baby girl. She is the youngest of five kids and is babied by all her siblings. Sofia was diagnosed with DIPG in January of this year after we noticed some developing ataxia. She finished up radiation a couple weeks ago which helped to relieve her symptoms and she is back to playing, talking and trying to run around with the rest of her siblings. She loves woody, buzz, and all things Toy Story. But mostly she loves being with her family and going to church. She asks multiple times a week if it’s Sunday yet. We are so thankful to have this time with her. She is truly a gift from God.
"Funding research, especially through organizations like this one, is imperative due to the lack of federal funding for pediatric cancer (est percentage 4%). DIPG is such an overlooked disease, partly due to the low number of diagnoses each year; this can lead parents of these precious children to feel forgotten. This is why it means the world to us when people donate in Sofia's name to help fund research. It’s a reminder to our family and every family going through this awful disease that our children are not forgotten." - The Feltkamp Family
