Chapter: TX - Austin DIY Fundraiser

Mummy Challenge

Hey Everyone! Our Team Brock Junior Committee has decided to compete against each other and see who can raise $2,500 the quickest. The losing team will be wrapped in toilet paper like a Mummy and pelted with water balloons! The fundraiser ends at the beginning of January.

To make it more fun for our donators and us, we have agreed to video ourselves doing some hilarious activities:

  • $1,000 - Ice Bucket Rivalry (Losing Team's Task)
  • $1,500 - Luke & Sebastian dress as Hotdogs!!
  • $2,000 - TBD
  • $2,500 - Mummy Wrap (Losing Team's Task)

Please help donate and get to watch the other team plunge.

Thank you!

Meet our Team!

LUKE COLLINS: I am a Senior in high school and Chair on TBJRC. Brock was like my cousin. When he was diagnoised with cancer, I was only 8 and couldn't understand how kids could even get cancer! It didn't make sense to me that doctors couldn't just fix him and make him feel better. I am a member of the Team Brock Junior Committee because I know we can make a difference. By raising money, our group funds life-changing research that will one day find a CURE for the deadliest of cancers; so little kids like Brock can grow up to have kids of their own.

JESSICA TRAN: I am a Senior at Cedar Ridge HS and Gold Out Co Chair on TBJRC. I joined the Team Brock Junior Committee to support my close friend since 1st grade, Jenna Fleming.  I knew Brock and he was such a happy and funny kid.

SEBASTIAN HOLT: Good evening, my name is Sebastian Holt and I’m a Sophomore and soccer player at Vista Ridge High School. I joined the Team Brock Junior Committee because I know firsthand the fear of hearing that someone you love might have cancer. When my little brother, Eli, was just two years old, he started having seizures, and doctors discovered a mass in his brain. Thankfully, the mass was benign, and today Eli is a healthy 3rd grader attending Akin Elementary.

AVA TERBAY: I am an 8th grader at Stiles Middle School, the setter on the Spartans’ Green Volleyball Team and one of the newest members of the Team Brock Junior Committee. I’m here today because like many kids across the United States, cancer has touched my school community.  It’s a very scary thing for a friend and classmate to be diagnosed with this devastating disease.  You see them change so quickly from healthy and energetic to tired and sick, and you just don’t understand why it’s happening…and neither do they.

CARLY COLLINS: I am an 8th grader at Stiles Middle School, I’m a libero on the Spartans Volleyball Team and  I’m honored to be a new member of the Team Brock Junior Committee. When I was just 5 years old, I lost my friend, Brock Fleming, to pediatric cancer. As a young child, sadness was a difficult emotion to understand. But over time, I discovered that talking about Brock, raising awareness that KIDS DO GET CANCER, and working toward a cure helped me heal.

EMMA REESE HERTEL: I’m excited to say I am a new member of the Team Brock Junior Committee.  As a junior in high school, I’ve always been moved by stories of courage and resilience. When I learned about the challenges faced by the Fleming family and their 7 year-old son, Brock, I knew I wanted to be part of something that makes a real difference. Seeing the incredible strength of kids like Brock, who fight for a chance at a normal childhood despite their cancer diagnosis, inspired me to join the Team Brock Junior Committee.

ABBY RACKLEY: I am excited to be one of the newest members of the Team Brock Junior Committee. I am a Junior at Brentwood Christian High school. When I was just nine years old my mother was diagnosed with cancer. Fortunately, my mom is doing great but I know how scary it can be, and I don't think anyone should have to suffer through that pain alone. My goal is to help other families in need, so they know they aren't alone.

SOPHIA OTTO: I am a Sophomore at Cedar Ridge High School and am happy to be part of this committee. Brock was one of my close friends, and I still miss him to this day. My goal is to help make a difference, to keep fighting and change prognosis for other kids.

AUDREY CLEMETS: I am an 8th grader at Stiles Middle School, and I am one of the newest members of the Team Brock Junior Committee. With kids diagnosed here at school, it has reinforced the need to create awareness. My goal in joining is to bring these issues to light.

Please consider donating to this worthy cause and start giving these kids hope as they fight the deadliest of cancers.  Every bit matter!
