My warrior a beautiful lively child that brings light to everyone around her. She is the youngest of her siblings yet is fearless and strong. Her symptoms started close to her 6th birthday and beginning of the 2023-2024 School year. First symptom I noticed was one of her eyes crossing one week into school. I took her to 2 Ophthalmologists, both did not recommend to go to any other specialist for further attention. Only one said he would see her again in 2 months for a follow up, At which point if it was still there he would do further testing. However, God Had other plans. On November 5th at 6 am I woke from a voice dream, it was a child screaming "Momma" the voice seemed to be of a child drowning. I checked outside at the pond across from our house but all was peaceful.  So, next I checked all my kids' fevers, and found that no one had a fever. However my brain was on alert now. My kids started to wake. Lily woke with her neck stiff. So because my brain was on alert, I realized that this was not the first time her neck was stiff. Then I began to connect the dots and realized this must be a neuro issue. I made her a regular visit at her primary physician. However, when I went to visit my mother at the hospital, where she had just undergone a hip surgery, I realized why wait to make sure all is well. In the emergency room where they ran some diagnostic tests and found a tumor in the posterior fossa. She since underwent brain surgery, Radiation without sedation for 6 weeks , and her chemo cycles for 6 months. Each of the radiation treatments which were done everyday for 5 days for 6 weeks, were 20 minutes long with a tight mesh mask stuck around her face and head to hold it still and her body taped down to a board. Now we are looking forward to a comeback. Though she felt fear during her journey, she overcame it and she fought through while keeping her sass and charm the entire time.
