Anežka "Ponožka" is our first-born daughter. She is a very smart and open-hearted girl. Anežka has a sense of humor like no other child at the same age. She enjoys exploring everything in the world - even the most ordinary things and activities can be interesting and very fun for her. Animals are Anežka's greatest love (I think so). But she also loves playing the professions, biking, reading, singing, cooking, housework doing, drawing, plaster moulding,...

Looking forward to the birth of the baby was one of our most amazing hobbies during Anežka's illness. We chose the name, prepared the cradle, read to the baby into mom's belly, etc. This all was time spent together, time without cancer. Unfortunately Anežka went to the paradise two days before her little sister, Johanka, was born.

Our brief timeline with DIPG:

2023-08-first week - we began to notice the symptoms: Anežka was smiling only with the left half of her face, her eyes were sometimes turned to the nose
2023-08-18 - MRI, quite large DIPG was the diagnosis
2023-08-29 - tumor biopsy (H3K27 mutation was found)
2023-09 - Anežka's symptoms got rapidly worse: she could not keep her balance so she could not walk, she got weak overall, drinking and eating was very very slow and very very difficult
2023-09-25 - start of conventional photon radiotherapy
2023-10 - Anežka's symptoms improved step by step nearly to the normal condition
2023-11-07 - end of radiotherapy, noticeable returned symptom: eyes turned to the nose
2024-01-20 - Anežka was very sick in the morning, we went to the hospital in the afternoon
2024-01-21 - Anežka got her angel wings in the early morning
