This is our 5 year old, Scarlet. She has sass for days!

I took her to the ER at Childrens hospital in Pittsburgh October 12th 2023, she was having a horrible headache, was seeing red spots and couldn’t walk straight. They did an MRI and found a large lesion on the right side of her brain. She was run through every test possible and it was believed she had an autoimmune disease. She had a biopsy in December at that same hospital that was found to not be successful. The surgeon unfortunately missed her tumor completely. After months of no answers I found Dr Klimo through an amazing facebook group for low grade gliomas, as that is what I believed she had just based on my research. Dr Klimo not only took her case but had us in Tennessee with in 2 weeks to do a resection and had pathology back with in days. Our worst fear was becoming reality, my research was correct. She has Diffuse Astrocytoma MYB altered grade 2. 

She was accepted into St Jude’s SJ901 trial and has been on that course of chemo since March. We are hopeful that it will shrink her tumor but we have been told we will probably only see stability. She brings a joy with her into every room, and it’s impossible to not love her.
