Back in September 2023 Cole started experiencing stomach issues and he would cry in pain all night. The doctors at that time said he was constipated. This went on for about a week and a half. It got to the point where Cole refused to walk. Finally after seeing a Gastro doctor, the doctor was concerned about him refusing to walk. She sent us over to the hospital to have Cole to get an MRI done. Late that night my husband and I receive the worst news ever that they found lesions in his head and down his spine. The following day Cole had a 9 hour brain surgery in the back of his skull to remove a tumor blocking his spinal fluid. The day after his surgery Cole was flown to Rochester to the mayo hospital for immediate radiation of a spine. Cole for the next 8 months received 6 rounds of chemotherapy and 3 of those rounds received stem cell transplants of his own cells.  Due to the tumors in his spine he is unable to walk but working hard with therapy twice a week to hopefully get there.
