Chris was diagnosed with his tumor, inoperable, wildtype, diffuse hgg on March 14, 2024. He has been doing radiation therapy and temozolomide chemotherapy. His tumor is causing seizures which are quite manageable with the use of anti epileptic drugs and mainly steroids. When we have to give the steroids a break he is tired all the time and requires assistance with almost everything. Other than that he is remaining strong, optimistic and positive. He is fighting and wants to continue to fight. The time has come to look at clinical trials and see what he is eligible to participate in and due to his original therapy regimen he is ineligible for several trials. We are looking into using the optune device, providing insurance will cover it. Chris loves walking and going for walks in the park and we just so happen to have a beautiful state park that runs through our whole county .25 from our house. He misses getting to go for hours by himself but still tries to go for walks when he feels up to it for a little while a few times a week with someone. He enjoyed lifting weights and staying fit and still is trying to do that to stay strong. I believe that is one of that biggest reasons he is still so strong and getting through radiation and chemo with minimal side effects due to his healthy life style. He loves cars and collecting diecast cars. He also has loved ducks since he was a baby and collecting ducks. He has looked forward to getting his drivers license and getting a car and working on cars for years. Unfortunately, due to the seizures he is unable to learn to drive. His hope is that he can be well enough to get his own job to even be able to work a shift or two a week just so he has the experience his two older brothers have of being independent and working and earning a paycheck.
