Giuseppe, aka Seppe, is the most kind hearted, sweetest 10yo kid you could meet. He loves his family, his friends, his multiple pets, school and life. He's an incredible hockey player. He's been skating since he could walk. He loves NHL hockey and his favorite teams: the Boston Bruins and the Tampa Bay Lightning. He's also a huge history buff. He can talk American Revolution or WW2 history for hours on end.
At the beginning of the school year, he was complaining about a mild headache, and we noticed a new limp in his step. He had a hard time on the ice (which he never does). One appointment to his pediatrician turned into a surgery, a DMG diagnosis, a lot of radiation, PT and OT appointments, and a whole lot of worry.
As I write this, it's 7 months after diagnosis, and we just got the MRI results that the tumor is back in the same location. We are heartbroken all over again. His hair was just growing back. He has worked so hard to get back to skating well, and life seemed okay. We jumped through so many hoops and spent so much money we didn't have to get him on a medication that clearly didn't work. So here we are, fighting the fight, living this nightmare, trying to stay positive.
