James was originally diagnosed with Langerhans Cell Histiocytosis at 13 months old in May of 2021. He received one year of chemotherapy and rang the bell on May 6th, 2022. In December of 2022, James started randomly vomiting, 2-3 times a week. After a few months of this, his oncologist ordered an MRI and a GI scope/biopsy. On May 8th of 2023, we were shocked to see James had a 3 cm tumor in his brainstem and we were told he had DIPG. To have a second cancer, completely unrelated and unconnected to his original cancer was truly shocking and absolutely devastating.  We have not given up hope as James continues to defy the odds of this tumor, having minimal symptoms and continuing to prosper. He has recently started proton beam radiation to see how this tumor will respond. At 3 years old he is stronger than anyone I’ve ever met. He is a fighter.
