On May 15th, 2022, Evan (4) was diagnosed with Grade 4 Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) brain cancer, which is inoperable. He was also enrolled in a clinical trial through Children’s Hospital. He valiantly battled DIPG for 13 months and sadly gained his angle wings on Jun 19, 2023.
After Evan lost his ability to walk, he became a real expert at video games, and earned the title "Baby Gamer" in our family. Evan loved all his games on the Xbox and Nintendo, and he loved playing Minecraft with his sister and Fortnite as a 4-man family squad. He loved Star Wars (especially Chewbacca), superheroes, and loved going to Chuck E Cheese. Evan had two smiles… one big one that would light up the entire world, and one crooked mischievous half-smile that he would save for when he had played a great trick, or knew he’d gotten away with something. He was the light and joy of our family, and he will be forever missed!
