On 4/15/23, we were informed that our son Hagen, 21 months old at the time, had begun his battle with brain cancer. From thinking it was just a simple ear infection to brain surgery to a cancer diagnosis. We’ve spent the last 5 months in and out of the hospital for treatment and low counts. It’s certainly not something we ever thought we’d have to go through as parents. Our little guy is quite the warrior though - he’s back to using both hands, working so hard to walk independently, and talking up a storm. Even on his tough days he’s still smiling. 

As a family we’ve always been obsessed with the outdoors. Hagen has already skied/snowboarded 10 days last winter. And he often looks through photos and says “ski ski ski”. We’re hopeful we’ll be out of treatment just in time to hit the slopes again this winter. We have to remind him every other day that we need snow in order to ski and there isn’t any on the ground quite yet. 

We just finished up round 4 of chemo and have one more round to complete at BBCH in Maine before our 6th round in Boston, that will be accompanied by a stem cell transplant.
