Aurora was diagnosed November 12, 2022, after suffering through daily headaches in the morning along with vomiting. She received a full resection of the tumor on November 17, 2022. Following surgery, she developed severe Posterior Fossa Syndrome and spent 3 weeks in an inpatient rehabilitation program before heading to Proton Therapy. Aurora loved the Proton Therapy Team at Cincinnati Children's Hospital- Liberty Campus. After Proton Therapy, she began a 9 cycle chemotherapy regiment. After the 4th cycle of chemotherapy, she presented with left side partial paralysis. MRI revealed a fairly severe case of radiation necrosis. She began treatment for the necrosis and stopped chemotherapy. As of September 2023, the necrosis has progressed and caused some swallowing and speech issues.
