Zoey was diagnosed in September 2012 and passed away on November 25, 2012. Her last meal was strawberry ice cream. She wanted to be a paleontologist ballerina…which sort of sums up her personality as well…she was a geeky fun loving little girl, who loved to dance. There was this one time she saw me crying as we got close to the end and she asked me why. I told her I was angry with God for giving her a booboo in her head. My 5 year old’s response was “You’re missing the point Dad. He didn’t give it to me…he’s taking it away.” My North Star for faith and spirituality is my little girl. That’s what made her unique…equanimity at all times.
"Our children are our future…only if we give them the opportunity to have one. Cancer continues to be the leading cause of death by disease among children. We’ve been donating to The Cure Starts Now since the last 3 years because of their focused attention on DIPG (the type of brain tumor that touched Zoey) research. If you’re looking to support pediatric brain cancer research, please consider donating to The Cure Starts Now." - The Ganesh Family
