Mia Grace was a sassy, sweet loving girl! She was diagnosed with DIPG at 2 yrs old and fought for 16 months. Although she lived a short life, her light continues to shine in this world!
"I will never ever understand why. I’ll never truly be ok. This is just horrible and no parent should have to go through it. A huge part of me has never moved past the day Mia died. I miss my baby."
"For those of you who may not know, Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), a rare and agressive type of brain cancer, stole my sweet Mia Grace from me on May 20, 2020. My baby battled this ugly incurable disease for almost 17 months before it took her life at the tender age of 3. Not a day goes by that I don’t miss my sweet baby and it’s been tough for me to figure out what I wanted to do and what I could emotionally handle to do my part to help contribute to a cure! I share Mia’s journey on social media to help raise awareness for DIPG...and after she passed I even donated her tumor for research purposes. Childhood Cancer research is disgustingly underfunded getting only 3.8% of the federal budget for cancer research. DIPG gets pennies of that funding because only 150-400 children diagnosed per year. DIPG research is almost always funded by grants and the generosity of people who care (often family and friends of those diagnosed)...so I want to do my part too."
"Mia was a Disney Enthusiast! She loved all things Disney World. It was her happy place! She asked to go daily, even up until the day she passed away! Our Disney World trips were therapeutic and Mia didn’t let DIPG slow her down one bit! So thankful for the time we had and the memories we made. I just truly hope a cure can be found so other families have more time and more memories than we did."
Mia's family is committed to helping to fund vital research to help other kids like Mia Grace.
