Nathan had a magnetic personality. He loved people and anyone who was around was drawn to him. He loved to laugh, tell jokes, play soccer, SpiderMan and watch Harry Potter movies. He never let DIPG slow him down and remained positive always.
Nathan's family's goal is to make sure the NO ONE has to go through what he had to go through and they work hard to help each and every kind in their own special way in honor of Nathan.
"This year we are going on 5 years that Nathan left us due to the horrible brain tumor, DIPG. We had so many amazing moments with Nathan and so many years that some people never get. While he lived a very short life he still lived more lifetimes in his 8 years than most of us will live in our long lifetimes.
This is what I want for kids affected with this horrendous disease. When they are diagnosed they are given a death sentence! The parents know it, but the children are so young that they don’t quite understand what’s going on. They do realize that something isn’t right because children are so smart. Nathan realized towards the end that he was dying, but it never diminished his spirits!
We formed Handsome Banana’s buckets to help with kids going through radiation and supplying them with gifts for their achievements. Unfortunately, due to Covid, we weren’t able to set up our treasure chest. Nathan had a bucket list and he ended up having to add more to it as he was barreling through each one at record speeds! People were immensely supportive and helped Nathan achieve everything that came to his mind!
I’m hoping we can now honor Nathan’s legacy by giving back to children who need the same experiences Nathan had! Every child who is struggling and fighting cancer deserves these momentous occasions!"
